How do I get admitted to Addu Equatorial Hospital?

You will need to consult a doctor at either the outpatient department (OPD) or emergency department (ED) in order to get admitted to AEH. Patients referred from other hospitals and Health Centers will also be seen by the doctors in these departments. A recommendation is required for patients referred from other hospitals for referral or admission at AEH. 

Admission Process

Once admission is advised, our staff will direct you to the admission counter to initiate the admission process. They will also provide all the necessary information regarding the rules and regulations, as well as the billing process, to ensure a smooth hospital stay.

For all elective admissions, you can approach the admission counter located at the emergency department between 8 AM – 4 PM with all the required documents to process the admission. Emergency admissions will be processed at the admission counter 24/7.

If for any reason you need to cancel or postpone your planned admission, please contact 6886666 and inform us as soon as possible. 

You will be required to bring the original copies of the following documents, to make your admission process as smooth as possible:

  • Admission slip and advice from the doctor.
  • National ID card for locals
  • Passport and work permit card (if applicable) for expatriates
  • Insurance card if you have insurance
  • You may also need to bring the following necessary items:
  • Regular medications
  • Previous medical records
  • Toiletries
  • Towels
  • Clothes
  • Cosmetics

Please do not bring any valuable items or excessive cash during your hospital stay. Hospital staff cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property.
