Hiyfahi Clinic, a specialized clinic dedicated to patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) - Diabetes, Hypertension and Dyslipidaemia was established in Addu Equatorial Hospital on 14th November 2022, on World Diabetes Day.
NCDs account for 84% of all deaths in Maldives, according to the WHO NCD country profile, 2018. At Addu Equatorial Hospital, we understand the impact non-communicable diseases have on the lives of our community and aim to address this with this specialized clinic.
Our team recognizes the importance of providing a comprehensive approach to treating these conditions in partnership with our patients. We prioritize patient education and empowerment as we believe that patients who are well-informed and actively engaged in their care tend to have better outcomes. In Hiyfaihi clinic, we aim to have a holistic approach to treating NCDs and special consideration will be given to counselling on the importance of lifestyle modification.
Specially trained medical officers will consult at the clinic under guidance of our Internal Medicine consultants.
Internal Medicine specialists will refer suitable candidates (based on need and complexity of disease)
On referral, you will get registered at the clinic on the first visit.
Subsequent appointments at the clinic will be made by the hospital. If a specialist consultation is required, the appointment will be arranged through the clinic as well
